Software Engineer in Portland, OR.
Duties:

Draft and document design specifications, installation instructions, and other project related information in order to ensure proper knowledge transfer to our offshore software developer teams.

Communicate and work closely with end-client's representatives in order to develop a thorough understanding of their specific system requirements.

Review specifications and requirements in order to confirm that the proposed system solutions are compatible with client's own existing operational systems (i.e. confirm that the proposed system solution is stable, can be configured to ensure no disruption to the client's operational systems).
-
Work with SVI management in order to determine the projected costs, delivery schedules and available resources and ensure proper communication to client's representative.
-
Provide off-shore teams with guidance during the software development phase of the project in order to ensure the solutions are functioning properly and delivering on the end project requirements.
-
Coordinate with quality assurance specialists in order to monitor the testing of our solutions in order to identify any performance issues and design solutions for those.
-
Prepare project documentation and training guides.
-
Drive the implementation of solutions with client's systems and train the client representatives and teams on how to properly utilize the solutions.

Continuously monitor performance and serve as point of escalation for system performance issues, provide ongoing software maintenance, upgrades and enhancements.
Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in the same or related role.

Requires 2 years of experience in the following:
-
Working in computer information systems and software development;
-
Software development using Java, EJB, JSP, XML, HTML/CSS, Javascript, Eclipse, CVS, SVN, Struts, IBM DB2, Oracle Database, IBM Websphere, and SQL developer;
-
IT solutions development with strong knowledge of the software development life cycle particularly the agile development model.
-
Requires 1 year of experience developing applications for the logistics and transportation industry.
-
